Hello and thanks for stopping by. Here is a little about me and what we are doing.
I have been rehabbing for about 19 years now. I am doing this primarily due to the loss of habitat due to destruction of wilderness. Our volume of wildlife has increased dramatically. Here are the number of animals we received in 1995 and so far this year. As you can see the numbers are only going up and up...

I am City, State and Federally licensed. What this means is that I am legally able to handle and rehab all species native to Virginia as well as rehabbing all birds on the endangered list. The expense for providing medical care, food and caging for wildlife has been out of our own pocket all this time. In July of 2005 we became incorporated and also became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
This is one of the reasons we have this web page, so that we may obtain contributions and funding to continue providing this service to the wildlife.
Jim, my husband, does all the maintenance of the caging, as well as any other work that has to be done around the property.
Marjorie Feldman is the Community Education Coordinator. She has been a member since April 2009 and is a category II Licensed rehabilitator.
Jessica Biersack is the Administrative Manager. She has been a member since May 2009 and assists the refuge during heavy rehabilitation season.
We love our wildlife, but it's not only "ours" it belongs to everyone.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Jim and Evelyn
